My obsession with the Pink Panther began in 1964 when I was nine years old. The movie "The Pink Panther" was released and I went to see it because I was a big fan of Robert Wagner, who was in the film along with Peter Sellers and David Niven. The Pink Panther character was created for the opening credits of the movie, and when I saw him...that was it. I was hooked. Whenever I saw something with the Pink Panther on it, I had to have it.
Over the years, as additional movies were made and more toys and products created, the collection snowballed. For a long time, I kept everything stored in boxes because I didn't really have room to display the collection and I liked to move often. When I met my husband Paul, he of course asked what I was keeping in all those boxes so I had to confess the extent of my addiction. It was his idea to take everything out of the boxes and create the Museum. I realized how lucky I was to have someone so supportive...many of my collector friends live with a person who is totally opposed to their collection.
Paul and I share the house with our son Steve and 2 cats. We have lived in Santa Rosa since 1991. |
